One Week, and Anything Goes….. Or Photography, My Art – Week 5

The idea of this challenge is to not only test your technical ability and your ability to ‘see a picture’, but also to develop your imagination in creating a piece of artwork, and to encourage lateral thinking. Please note, that a straight picture can be just as pleasing artistically as a highly manipulated one, so this challenge should be open to straight and manipulated images, and judged on their artistic merit

1. You have exactly 1 week to come up with an idea, photograph it and submit it. Start date Monday – Judging to be some time between Sunday Night and Monday morning. Then the new subject to be posted some time on the Monday.
2. Entries should be new images, and not ones that have previously been seen on TP (Unless the image has been significantly altered in some way by PP which makes it a new image.)
3. Any and all photographic technique at your disposal is allowable to create your image. Judging should be based on the final image, regardless of the technicalities of how the image was created.
4. Images can be posted at any time during the week up until a cut off time determined by the judge on Sunday evening.
5. Winner to choose a title for the next challenge and judge it at the end of their week.
6. Titles and Subjects can be interpreted however the photographer sees fit, thinking both inside and outside the box should be encouraged. (If you feel that your image could be misinterpreted as not being relevant, a short accompanying explanation note is permissible/encouraged.)

This Weeks Challenge

JOURNEY

the journey can be physical, metaphorical, imagined, anything as long as it ties in.

in the interest of fairness the girlfriend will judge this week's entries, she won't know who anyones picture is and she has a good eye for a photo.

sorry it's so late guys, been working and then straight home to bed, damn illness.

nice, was thinking bout doing this myself but got a few lined up instead.

iv decided i will most likely use film for this competition, gives me an excuse to shoot more film each week.

just scanning mines the now so hope the few i took have worked out...

i will need someone to judge it this week because i'm camping from sunday morning until thursday.

not happy with this shot but needs must, been feeling awful all week and my limited time in town didnt do my film shots any justice.

hopefully a wee week away will clear the cobwebs a bit!

anyhoo, my journey picture, a journey back in time to those beloved kodak early cameras...

???

Aahhh - what happens now then?

Onefunkypenguin is not back until next week, and no stand in jusdge has been appointed. Shall we let it run for the rest of this week - (Maybe giving those of us that didn't manage to get round life's issues a chance to enter.)?

I have to confess, I can't even think of a suitable image this time.

My vote would be for 'Yes' to keep it open for another week so we can get more entries.

another vote for keep it open here - seeing as I missed every challenge going this week!

I'll vote yes aswell, been working away these last few weeks and no time for camera fun :'( On a happier note though, I've got my hands on a second hand 40D from a mate in work who just upgraded himself

Yeah, keep it open for another week. There's much more we can get out of this subject from those who haven't got around to posting yet.

well - that's more votes for keeping it open than entries received, I reckon that passes as a quorum ??

My effort for the moment

sorry guys, just done monster shift and had camera problems, that is i dropped it on the ocean when camping so having to try claim on insurance. eejit!

competition ends tomorrow evening at 10pm, il post on here around 11pm when i finish work with the winner.

good luck!

it's a close call for me but i think the big yin takes it with sunday spin with comfy coming a close second...

congratulations, sorry its so late!

Well done Big Yin. a couple of really good shots there. I have to confess, I just could not come up with a suitable idea for this title. I did a couple of shots (which were of course absolutely stunningly good. - But didn't really fit the brief.

(actually, the shots I did were rubbish, as well as being unsuitable.)

Well done!

Cheers onefunkypenguin - hadn't noticed the update in here - i've been running about like a madman all day, and didn't actually spot your post until now. Personally, my favourite was definitely comfy's shot - really geve me the itch to wander up that path and see what was on the other side of the ridge. Suppose i'd better get my thinking cap on and come up with another subject then... :)
