Yes
I'm gonna buy a 40D soon, £650 on onestopdigital.com. (£100 Cheaper than Warehouse Express and Calumet).

With the current aniversiry promo that makes it £600 inc delivery, really good deal. Better than eBay infact!

Has anyone used One Stop Digital before? They do imports from Hong Kong right? Are imports from the good or should I look elsewhere?

Anyone used them before?

You won't get the cash back, Canon will look at your receipt and say no chance. You'll also have to return to them for any repairs as Canon UK won't accept it.

Yeah just realised that I wont get cashback...

Think i'l go with Kerso then, im sure he will be able to match their price, at least then i'l get the cashback and proper warrenty.

Just looked in their FAQs:

onestopdigital.com said:
10. How long is the warranty you are offering?

Unless otherwise stated, we offer 12 months "Retrun to Hong Kong" warranty for all of our cameras and 6 months warranty for camera lenses and flashguns.

Please note that some products on our site do come with manufacturer's international warranty. If this is the case, it would be stated in the product description.

Please see our terms & conditions for full details.

11. What should I do if I need to get my item repaired?

If the item is covered by manufacturer's international warranty, please contact the manufacturer in your country to arrange repairs

Simply contact us, and we will be happy to assist you. A simple instruction will be given to guide you through the process of posting the faulty product to Hong Kong for repairs.

sigma are doing 3 year warranty on ex lens at the moment but not sure if that includes hong kong aquired goods

If the difference is only £50 I'd say it's not worth it, though I have no problems dealing with OneStop, they are fast, efficient and cheap.

Sigma lenses are covered with an international warranty though I don't think the extended period for EX gear is included. Canon split their regions up into UK, European, US, Asia, etc.

Yeah but i'v got an international warrenty with all my Canon stuff, came with it.

It's got a warrenty card with a USA only bit and an international one...

I'd also try a trip to your local camera shop to see if they'll get anywhere near internet prices. Has worked for me twice with DSLR purchases in London Camera Exchange & Jessops- both were able to match UK online prices. Even lenses weren't that far off internet prices by the time P&P is taken into account. I can usually talk the store manager into bunging in a few sweetners to close the deal- a camera bag and 1Gb memory card for the first camera and a 72mm skylight for my last lens. Warranty is less of a worry with shop bought stuff I think too.

Give it a try- help keep your local photo stores open.

Canon UK only have to honour European Warranty cards. For lenses they generally don't care but for a body they will check the serial number to find out the origin, if it's not Europe they'll say it needs to go back to where it was purchased. This is exactly why OneStop don't claim that Canon gear is covered by an International Warranty but do for Sigma who will do the repair (if you can show duty + vat were paid).

No, OneStop will refund any duty/vat/charges you might have to pay.

You will get the cashback from Canon.

The deal last time I checked (on the last bout of cashback), is that YOU had to be a UK citizen/resident, not the supplier.

From the current cashback T&Cs

The cashback is only valid where this product has been originally sold by Canon in the EEA or Switzerland.

and from the details page for applying:

The promotion runs in Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Channel Islands, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and the Vatican City. To be able to claim the cashback, the products must be purchased in one of these countries and you must be a consumer of an EEA country (i.e. the EU, Norway, Iceland, Channel Islands, San Marino, Vatican City and Liechtenstein) or Switzerland. The promotion is not open to employees of Canon or members of their family, or to any Canon agents or dealers.

Aaaahhh they must have changed it this time round....The cheeky so n so's.
