New boy here. Please be gentle with me

My father-in-law recently passed away and I was given his photography gear. There are two bodies (Sony Alpha A200 and A700) and several prime and zoom lenses. I messed around with various lens/body combinations and eventually paired a Minolta 50mm 1.7 lens with the A700 and took some shots. Oh my word, the picture quality is amazing!

Have you guys had a similar experience where you've discovered a marriage made in heaven?

Well, I've used a lot of Minolta Rokkor and other film era lenses on mirrorless cameras and yes, it's a nice thing to do.

At the moment my most used lens is a modern AF 40mm f2.5.

It wasn't because of any bad incident such as an illness or death, but the first time I put my 16-55 f2.8 on my then brand new X-H1, that was exactly my reaction.
