Do any of you find that at roughly every 7th strip scanned in vuescan it decides the rotate doesn't work?

Previously I've noticed the preview is hit and miss but the actual image follows what rotation is added. With this bug it is ignored so that you set the correct rotation but it comes out the wrong way. It's very annoying. Only way to stop it is to restart vuescan so you get another 6 strips before it's wonky again.

I use batch scan and do 4 at a time but even if I use fewer on a strip it still seems to be every 7th strip scanned or so. I've only really noticed it lately as I've been bulk scanning so many films.

I don't know whether it is confined to neg scanners or flatbeds with transparencies.

Anyone else noticed this or is it just me?

I use vuescan most days but not noticed any problems with rotation so far (on an epson 4490) - presumably you have the latest release (released 2 days ago)?

I cant say i noticed as i never manage to load the film in the holders the right way round

I have the very latest release. I think it did it previously to that. Tempted to go back to an earlier one to save having to restart it all the time.

Took me a while to get the hang of the film holders. After 30 odd films I've got the knack. Loading the thing into the scanner is the hard bit. The minolta is very tricky about it sometimes.

2 days ago, you are probably 7 versions out of date now ;)

The person that wrote it is driving me nuts. I sent a problem report. That wasn't detailed enough. I send a problem report with 'step by step' instructions. It's got too many steps now. What part of preview and scan a few strips and wait for the rotation not to work is so complicated?!

Really can't be arsed. Will go back to the earlier version I had as I'm pretty certain it started after a recentish update. Think this version and the last one did it but the one before that didn't.

As a comment - I was scanning last night and had this bug. I don't do autodetect on the scans, but with the coolscan IV I had lots of tiffs come out with some default orientation when I had set the correct orientation in the preview screen. Definitely annoying.
