Since I'm doing a lot of building work these days I thought I'd have a look at a timberbeamcalculator.co.uk subscription, and I'm looking through the Demo calcs.
What I'm finding off is in this one: https://www.timberbeamcalculator.co...es/timber-ridge-beam-calculation-report-2.pdf
where we get a 3.5m span beam with Dead Uniformly Distributed load given as 2.82KN/m ... then it claims the reaction force from this is 5.31KN. But I can't fathom how they've worked that out at all, according to the maths I was taught the reactions should be 4.935KN.
So where am I going wrong?
