Here's the scenario.....

1. I have 3 Google calendars (1 personal, 1 work, 1 Lightblue - I could merge the first 2 if I had to but LB requires its own calendar)

2. I now have an assistant who books appointments for me :D

3. I want to share my calendar with her so she can see when I'm busy/free

4. I don't want a manual solution :shake: or to show when I'm slacking off or to have her check 3 different calendars to set one appointment. I just need to merge the 3 calendars into one "busy/free" calendar automatically.

5. All the pages I can find that explain the ridiculous hoops you have to go through for this are like 5 years old and I'm guessing big G have changed stuff since then.

Any ideas?

I thought you could set google calendar so that some events were private? If you can set all your personal events to private but it still exports the correct free/busy info then that should work.

Otherwise I'd look at proper shared calendaring solutions with proper appointment management and tracking. Sugar CRM is one that springs to mind.

The problem is the 3 calendar thing. I'd have to share 3 calendars. I can make them private so it just shows busy/free but it's still 3 calendars for one person to check.

I hear you on the CRM thing. Ultimately I need that. But I need to get through the next 6 months before I'll have time to invest in getting that working.

It doesn't matter if it is 3 calendars. They're all displayed in the main calendar interface and colour coded so it is just one calendar to check in effect... I can see my shared calendars individually or together.

Ah right - cool. I'll try that :)

In other news, for $5 a month Google claim they will simplify this for me so I'm guessing there won't be a very easy way...

OK it works kind of. Thanks :)

It appears as 3 calendars but we'll cope until I get a proper CRM or pay the Gtax.
