Just thought I'd share this with you as someone might find it of interest...
Popped into the bookshop on my lunch to try and get some ideas for the christmas list. I know, bit early, but if I don't, I'll end up with a dozen pairs of debenhams undies that ruck under your wotsits, and enough smellies to give me a personal hygiene complex!
Anyways... found a cracking book!
Capturing The Light by Peter Watson
It looked so good I almost brought it there and then. Basically each DPS has an image, and then accompanying notes explaining how the image was captured, what the conditions were, settings etc. But then, also explains WHY the image works, and points out specific features and also weaknesses, or bits that don't really add to the image. Bit like Les M's critique of one of my dawn seascapes last week, and extremely helpful to beginners.
Obviously there's more, like examples of how shooting at midday improves some landscapes, etc etc.
Don't know if anyone's read it, but it'll definitely be one I'd like!
