A friend of mine died earlier this week, after falling 4 floors out of a flat window to the ground. It was a tragic accident, no-one was to blame at all.

But one of his friends had to run quarter of a mile to fetch the ambulance as the apartment block isn't yet listed on maps or sat navs, and isn't signposted.
When the paramedics arrived, the man's best friend and girlfriend were told he'd died, and thrown into a police van and taken for questioning for 6 hours.. and they weren't even offered a cup of tea.

JUst makes me mad really, the place should've been signposted (the company that built the apartments is obviously refusing to comment), and innocent people were treated as criminals from the minute the police arrived.

That's awful CC :(

Sorry to hear about your friend :(

I've already lost all faith in most "services" available in this country. Your story really emphasises this CC

Sorry to hear of the loss of a friend.

I am so sorry to hear that :(

We live on a new estate as well, hope to god something like this doesnt happen near us :(

Thanks, it's kinda comforting to know the services are like this everywhere, but it's disgraceful at the same time!

Not the same thing AT ALL, but our house has been built for 7 months, and we still dont appear on some websites for gas/leccy etc. Makes me wonder if many businesses (inc the emergency services) know we exist :( Its so important :(

So sorry to hear about your friend and the way others were treated

New estates are terrible to find, and as you say, often don't have street signs or numbers for a long time after they are built. I work as a community midwife and have had many problems trying to find a house on a new estate. At one home, I had the dad giving the ambulance crew directions over the phone whilst I was delivering the baby on the living room floor! Houses with names instead of numbers are also just as bad - especially when there is no visible house name from the road.

As far as I understand it, it's down to the companies that build the houses... so get onto them.
