I normally don't bother much with the homeless but today I noticed how many homeless beggars actually seem to own a dog.....on one occasion the "homeless" girl had three...... no doubt used to get the sympathy vote........as an after thought some beggars make quite a bit of cash so the dogs might be pedigree........just an observation for a Friday afternoon whilst having a pint.........:D

Give them a tin or bag of dog food ;)

If I were sleeping rough, I'd want a dog for lots of reasons. Companionship, safety, warmth.....

I guess you know that inspired the group to
name themselves "3 dog night:" ?
Its an Inuit saying I believe.
If its really cold you need 3 dogs.

(Just a another piece of useless information, bought to you on behalf of TFI Friday :) )

How can beggars afford the vet bills and food for the dog? You do see a lot up here with dogs, and the dogs look well enough fed and are docile often.

Usually they go without food so the dog gets to eat.

As I said above and was serious, many people do give them dog food, and some of the charities look after the dogs health (y)
I have nothing against it as has been said the dogs seem happy and well loved

Actually, I had thought that when I walked through the streets of Folkestone the other day. I guess it creates that "hobo" image?

@IanDJ. That where I was walking......lol.....through Folkestone....there was even one guy playing guitar with a lovely huge dog and a wheel chair....which he wasn't actually sitting in

I always give them a couple of tins of food and some spare change. I'm sure a lot of people do the same. One lad I got to know quite well would go days without eating to make sure his dog (buster) could eat.

Companionship and something to love - and that loves them back. We had a homeless chap around here whose dog got run over.He killed himself a week later.

So SAD! :(

I had to give up my 2 Collie a couple of months ago as I could no longer commit to them due to work and travel....They deserved better.....So I got them rehomed on a farm.....Still hurts that they are not with me!!!:(

I thought - and it may be urban myth or whatever, but they as in homeless could claim something like an additional £10 benefit for having a dog. so 3 = £30 a week.
