Ive been pointed in the direction of Darkroom for on site printing and especially printing predetermined packages and easy processing, issue is cost at the moment and as such Ive ferreted out a package called QImage. Would value the opinions of what you use for on site processing of images and printing packages and singles.I was going to just use Lightroom. But I see the flexibility of a bespoke package.

Don't do on site but use qimage for all my photo printing at home up to A0, best value and developed by a genuine guy with a common sense approach to updates/subscription. Basically $19.95 for year of support and updates but you choose as and when to buy a years worth to get back up to date if you let it lapse.
 
Lightroom for all onsite. Camera wireless tethered to hot folder that Lightroom monitors. Preset applied on import for white balance, exposure tweaks etc. Show client each image and colour mark those of interest. Print the coloured images. Easy as that.
Jf lightroom plugins, especially folder watch, are essential.
 
Above is based on one sales station or multiple working from the same image database of finished edited images.
If multiple shooters, folder classification, live edits shared amongst multiple viewing stations then you are beyond Lightroom and darkroom is most common

May I ask what wireless tether you recommend I shoot Nikon,not sure what you are shooting so may not be relevant...

Best is the manufacturers wireless grip, have also used eye fi card, to link nano routers are pretty good with either

Wireless grip for D810? cant seem to find a grip with wireless transmitter in? or do you mean the add on for wireless as "grip" equipment sorry being a numpty here I think..
 
Never had a D810.
Nikon I shot wired tethered or wifi card.
Canon shot wireless with manufacturers wireless file transfer (wft) grip.
Fuji options at the moment are wifi card or wired tethered.
There are also third party wft type units that work with any manufacturer.
Warning, wft units are expensive, latest one for out canon 5ds was £699
 
I am going to use cable at for the first time - Just did a shoot minus printing and I see the risks, If I can get a wireless solution for my D3, NO need for D810 at all and Jpeg all the way so now on the lookout for wireless connection for D3. LR5 for printing and a DNP DS620 Printer doing 6x4 and 6x9....Borrowing a backup DS40 for plan b....it will be loaded and ready to go should the new printer have a issues.
