Yes
looking for a 50mm 1.8 [Nikon fit] and a 18-55mm AF-S DX *VR* --both for my D40

forgetting One Stop Digital ATM - as i read they have good reviews

i researched and found Bristol Cameras and Camera World both have the best prices....but doing a Google complaints search - opened up a CANFUL of worms :shake:

has anyone used either ?? dont want "I heard rumours,,," but actual buying experiences. Keep it factual....:D or the thread will be closed....

Just a small question...You do know that the 50mm1.8 won't auto focus on your D40?

I've bought from Bristol Cameras with no problems (although I think you've put me off them now...) Warehouse Express and FFodes too.

RGB Labs in Cleveland (Northern England) is often very competitive on price and I've bought lots from them.

yes - but content to use manual till I get my D90....

...ffordes are always my first-port of call ......very helpful and knowledgeable too

Camera World ! Tried to buy top end Alpha off them & took me through the check out process, took payment then told me sorry out of stock! Had to ring and chase them. Was told to ring other store as they dealt with Sony stuff. Rang them and they said "Sorry no stock ring our other store to see if they have one laid about". £2000 laid about?

Asked about online payment and was told ever so casually "oh we might be getting one in soon, ring back”?

Come on people! If you advertise stock please make sure you have it in, all you’re doing is getting peoples backs up. I understand stock is constantly moving and changing but 3 weeks after and 6 calls later still nothing.

In fairness to them the card payment was not processed by Card Company and I am not left out of pocket just a little miffed I didn’t get my new toy.

well that's two down for me -- my opinion I stress

so - found a 18-55 VR at Parks for same price £100............

they seem to have a good reputation ...

If your going to use manual focus I would strongly recommend getting a katzeye. My d60 manual focus was out of alignment and I didn't find out until I installed the katzeye.

Stuart - thanks - hope to get the D90 asap

is the katzeye a DIY installation ?

Yes. its not as scary as you might think. just make sure you have gloves and a breathing mask so you don't get anything in there! A good set of tweezers helps as well....Stuart

just a thought.....i saw here someone spoke highly of their D90 with one

... if i install said katzeye it may/will screw up the NEW Nikon D90 warranty?

Yardbent- I've purchased from Park Cameras. I did it in the shop, not online but they appear to be a reputable outfit. I'm guessing as you live near Glasgow, the shop is too far away for you (its in Burgess Hill near Brighton).

For some things they are amongst the cheapest. I also believe none of their stuff is Grey import.
