Can't see a serious practical use for these.

The increase in workflow time for the upload/download would add hours to any reasonable shoot.

Not to mention the risk of losing all your changes if the internet connection or the server fails.

I can see how being able to work on any computer is a bonus, but that's it, and my laptop goes everywhere with me anyway. If there wasn't the likes of GIMP out there for free then web based apps might appeal more, but for now I'm with Psi, I can't see any great use for them  No offence intended, JMO.

I think these on line editors are aimed at users of Flicker and similar. Simple adjustments and changes, can't see them being of real use if you are trying to upload a 20 Mb file or larger.

The Pixlr web app is pretty impressive. It's got a load of functionality but like a few of you say, uploading the images first, particularly images of any reasonable size pretty much makes it useless. If the image is already online, well that's workable. Still, it could be a little glimpse of which direction software is going to go in future.

It's very similar to photoshop in appearence, so similar i'm wondering about copyright issues. If they sell the prograpm at a reasonable price they could really hit adobes overpriced software. Wayne
