Congrats on the new lens, had one for a couple of years until I went to the 300mm f/2.8. I think it's got to be one of the best value L Lenses canon makes. Enjoy.

Cheers guys. That's a cracking shot Organic. Was it handheld? I have had a little play and boy am I going to struggle to keep it still!!!!

I paid full whack Jessops price on 0% finance for a year.

Never actually used one of these, but have seen more than respectable results!!

Presumably the push and pull is quite intuitive?

Was looking at the Canon lens prices which seem to have gone up everywhere...I bought a 70-200 f2.8L IS off Ian (Kerso) about 3 months ago for £960, less £75 cashback and he's now doing them for £1,049.

I dread to think what shops etc. are charging for one...I did go into Jessops the other day....damn the secret's out now :coat: and unless my eyes deceived me, they want about £1,350...

NO NO NO!!! I didn't pay THAT much!! Kerso gave me a good price, but for the almost £900 price tag I needed some interest free credit. Compared to Warehouse Express, I paid a couple of quid more, but felt happier with Jessops aftercare if any problems.

Congrats. When you get used to the push-pull design, then use another lens you will try to zoom in/out, using a push/pull method

Do you all find it is OK handheld? It seemed very wobbly to me at full extension! Hope I can hold it steady.

You should find it ok to handhold unless you have really shaky hands.

Takes practice to use longer lenses. Working on and thinking about your stance and the way you support yourself and the camera in what ever situation you're in will help dramatically.
Of course so will the IS :)

Thanks swag72,

I was using a monopod as it was a pretty dull day. 1/160th @ F5.6 ISO 200

Well, congratulations on your new friend!
