Just got my bank statement, and their are direct debits amounting to nearly £600 in thevform of 4 payments to paypal, all on the 17th!! Wtf, fraud again!! Just on to the bank, and their refunding me now. Still, leaves a very nasty taste in the mouth. :(

Paypal always send you an email confirming any payments before they come out of your bank account. Have you checked with paypal to see if the payments were in fact from your paypal account or a bank mistake?

Thats how my bank got frauded. Bought some medium format film off fleabay, and next thing I know payments for an apple computer, medications and phone top up were taken. :bang:

If the scammers dont rip you off, Paypal will try - best not to use them!

After I got ripped off for 500 quid I refuse to use them and only two days ago we had a begging letter asking us to open our PP account back up................NEVER AGAIN......... maybe PP have noticed a slump in business after all their wrong doings and decided to try all the people they ripped off first to try to get back on track..............I know it wont happen but god I wish PP and e bay would go to the wall

PP tried taking out almost £900 from my bank a/c last year as 'Ebay Fees for Ebay Hong Kong"! Had to spend hours on the phone to my bank and credit card company trying to cancel all payments to PP. What frustrated me most was Paypal saying to me that they would have to investigate that I actually did not owe the money to Ebay HK.......although no money was lost, the whole experience did leave a very bitter taste in my mouth and I think twice now before using ebay/paypal.

Not had a problem myself, but this thread has made me more aware of potential problems.

Dont like flea bay or pp try not to use either of them but when I have I check my bank daily for a week or two

Last year I also had someone empty my current account through PayPal :shake: apparantly it was being used on a gambling website! ... Problem was I couldn't see the emails as I was on a camping holiday and no internet access  To be fair to PayPal they did phone me and let me know what was happening and was able to refund all the money within about a week or so.. and Lloyds bank were also excellent in dealing with the situation ... Jeez! Can't believe I said something nice about banks? But it's true, both really were very good

PayPal are only allowed to make payments into my bank account, since the double-dip incident (2007?), which they set up a national rate line to deal with.

I have really gone off them...thinking seriously about closing the account..

I need paypal for my business. However as soon as I reach £50-100 depending if I see it or not, I withdraw the lot!
Never had any fraud problems though. When I did have an issue with my account they resolved it within 3 hours on a Saturday morning.
Apart from them robbing me in fee's ( not so much now with PPG :) ) I don't really have too much to complain about.

Same here, but the minimum withdrawal amount has been dropped to £6.

I'm sure if you knew of a cheaper, usable alternative you'd use it.

If you're running a legit business, bank and credit card financial charges are an allowable expense. In any case, you're on dodgy ground using PayPal Gift and the 1st June policy update will make it a "restricted activity to request or send personal transaction payments for commercial transactions."

Hmmmmm ive used Paypal for 7 years and never had an issue.....

Its sounds stupid but none of you recieved an email claiming to be from Paypal whereby you either need to reply with your login details or there is a 'link' to login to the website have you
