As above - is it? IIRC it's only the first OM1s that are slightly different isn't it? :help:

On my OM10 you can't take the door off, as it hasn't got that little pin to slide down which pulls the top trunnion out of the body. Also the distance between the locating holes is about 4mm shorter on the OM10. Unfortunately it looks like you're out of luck if you were contemplating a swap

Yeh I need a spare film door for infra red work, and don't really fancy spending serious money on a good body!

That's shame :(

Why change the door?

If (memory failing here) the OM10 door has a "window" in it to see the film canister why not use black insulation or gaffa tape to cover it up?

Unless your using something around the 1145nm range then a new door would be better :)

New door because the pressure plate needs modifying, and I don't want to wreck one of my good cameras in the process. OM10 no good for infra red, no OTF metering.

I'll just have to keep my eye out for a scrapper OM2

It does have OTF. It's got the same black and white pattern on the shutter curtain as the OM2 has. It does time out after 2 seconds though, so I'm not sure if that would be good enough for you. I don't know what you need to do to the pressure plate, but it looks like it can just be sprung off the door as it's held on by two springy bits of steel with locating slots in. It looks like it might be a bit tricky to get back on again.

I've got an OM2 in several pieces. Door is OK. Want it?
PM me.

Had we best start a thread in classfieds first to avoid wrath of mods? :gag:

Disaster averted

I may be a grumpy old golfbag, but I doubt if I would complain about something of this nature... Having said that, doing it this way lets you both get a nice feedback +1, and keeps it nice and above board :)

Indeed, last thing I want is to get anyone into trouble for helping out

Preparing the tinfoil and epoxy for modifying the pressure plate....
