Om10 50mm aperture slipping

Hi, I have an OM10 and the aperture ring slips when it is on the camera. Its fine when off it, but I guess the pressure needed to indicate to the camera the aperture setting pushes the ring back to f16. Does anyone know if this is an easy fix, or given that it is a rough lens anyway, easier to get another? (If you are selling a decent 50mm OM lens, let me know) Thanks
 
Not a problem I've heard of before but despite the excellent quality the Zuiko 50mm f1.8 they are so cheap and abundant you may as well have a go fixing it yourself or just buy a replacement.
 
As said ^^^^ you may as well have a go as a replacement would no doubt be cheaper than a professional repair.

Here's a Yashica 50mm I took apart to fix. Alas I never managed to get it back together haha!

After posting, i was thinking that the reason I got the OM was to shoot wide open, so am going to carefully duct tape it at f1.8 and rock with that. Unless ebay turns up something...
 
I've seen this lens in classifieds going for £12 in the past.
 
I paid £5 for mine off of ebay in good nick. They only tend to get a bit pricey if you are after the older silver nosed version. I am on the hunt for one to go with my OM1.
 
Blimey they have one in CEX near me and they want £49.99.
My brother gave me mine :)
 
If you check online, it usually says they sell for £12, buy for £5, or give £8 in vouchers. I also have a brother who has given me a fair bit of film kit.

This lens isn't that hard to disassemble and reassemble. There are videos on YouTube you can follow. If you take off the front ring there are three screws holding the filter ring in place. Under this should be a ball bearing, which, if it is in place will hold the aperture at each f stop until you move it. I'm guessing this ball bearing has slipped out of place.

Anyway watch this video, it's 26 minutes long but I found it very helpful when I wanted to open mine up to clean inside.
