Hello.

I am using an Olympus Trip 35 but i am having trouble working out some old flash parts i have been given. See linked photo ... http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/6126/img3497bf3.jpg

i an not sure how to use the Magicubes or the Mini flash parts . i do not know whether either of them work with the round disk shaped flash unit you see in the photo too.

Does anyone know if any of these will work with this camera if not what i need to get the round flash unit working? I am having trouble finding any information about it online in forums so far, so any help would be appreciated!

Many thanks.

Chris :)

I dunno about the Magicubes, but those flash bulbs look a bit smaller than the type I'd expect to see for that flashgun (The one with the folding reflector)

If they're not a firm push fit into the socket, then I'd guess they're the wrong ones.

What CT says.
But in any case that supply of bulbs looks finite. And what are you going to do when it's finished? No prob: you can attach a simple electronic flash and connect with a wire, just like the flash unit in the picture.
I did. With my Oly Trip 35 . . . 35 years ago!

I just had a rush of blood to the head. I remember those Magicube things now. There's a little mini flash bulb in each of the four sides. They were used with the Instamatic range of cameras a gazillion years ago and needed a special socket on the camera to take them.

The Instamatic range used a drop in film cartridge and took off in a big way simply because it removed the need for Joe Public to load a film leader onto a spool. The actual negative size was ridiculous - smaller than a half frame 35mm neg, so awful quality was guaranteed!

Sorry I digress, they're no use to you at all, but as Smiffy says, you don't wanna be messing with bulbs anyway.
