Don't really use my OM1 anymore and am in the process of selling my equipment off, maybe I'd keep it all if I had ever managed to get an OM3Ti mmm with an 85mm on it 2xmmm.

It was always lovely equipment to use.

Nick.

Sorry Robin, couldn't resist!

Even with a sticky shutter its still better than my two Pen F's, the one looked great but the shutter was broken, so my Father had bought a replacement, unluckily for him he hadn't realised it was a medical specific version! So it had a round viewfinder with cross hairs in it! The two versions as I found out later, can not be used to make one good one!

Here's my OM1n, owned from new, I've got the receipt somewhere!

I'd forgotten how small it was, here it is alongside one of my D1xs, looking through the viewfinder of the Olympus it is striking how much bigger the image is in comparison to the Nikon.

That Nikon is nearly as big as an ETRs:-

The size of the OM cameras is wonderful. If I could get a decent DSLR of the same size and piccy quality I would jump at it! There is only so much carting round my canon stuff that i can take!

I've been feeling tempted to buy an OM-1 recently to see what all the fuss is about.

Is this a smart move?

Go for it, OMs are great they almost have a watch like quality.

As has already been commented on, they always were small, but compared to DSLRs they seem tiny.

If you go for a OM-1, make sure it's had the battery mod, or be prepared to get the battery mod adaptors and use hearing aid batteries - there's a thread on here somewhere.

I would say grab an OM-2n. Even better than the 1 and you can get batteries to go in it without a problem. These OM cameras really are superb, as are the zuiko lenses!

:agree:

I picked up one a couple of weeks ago - it's a joy to use and feels like it will go on forever. Currently have 3 OMs of different levels and really do enjoy them.

Manual exposure with a mechanical mechanism is attractive to me, which is why I was thinking of the OM-1. Sorting out an adapter for the batteries isn't too tricky.

I have a Canon A-1 if I want electro-techno wizardry :)

I have an OM10, can I join in :D

John-oh, I think you need to buy more stuff.....

Well I would have got an OM2n to play with but owning an OM10 has put me off Olympus for life although I picked up a slightly better OM20 for the lenses. :)

Here you go Jared
