I must admit I was also a bit worried when I updated mine. But luckily everything went smoothly and all my settings were retained.

.... Don't forget to update OM Workspace to its latest version first. Instructions here :

^ ^ ^ And so nothing regarding any feature updates. So I will wait for the next Firmware update and I'm told by OMDS that they will be promptly released as and when any are ready.

Just had a chat with one of the techies at A.J.Johnson who handle olympus/ OM repairs for items bought from h.dew .. in the light of Olympus not supplying parts as has been stated on here .
I was assured they can still get whatever spares they need / require direct from OM.systems in Portugal . . . Worth knowing as I was wondering how it effects any warranty work if needed
 
I need more UHS II cards !

I have yet to download my only one so put UHS 1 170Mb speed in to the OM-1 for a brief foray photographing the garden birds this afternoon.....and the buffer took ages to clear compared to the 300Mb speed II card.

UHS II cards are still costly but needs must......I have to check prices but ideally I hope to get 2 @32GB to complement the one I already have!

One of your best if not the best b.i.f shot I have seen from you over the years ,every detail is pin sharp. And it does dispel some of my doubts over the OM1 . Well done

Is that with pro capture? Im interested to know how well that works with the oly 100-400. Everything I see on youtube seems to say the 100-400 because its not the "pro" lens is gimped feature wise on the om-1. But im wondering how gimped. Especially the IS. (A side question, can you handhold video with that combo fine?)

Yes, ProCap SH2, 25fps.
The 100-400 I class as a 'make-it-work-lens'..... it lacks features of the Pro lenses.
But what option is there....Oly 150-400 f4.5 at £6.5k....I don't think so.
As for video, I never go near it, never have.
 
My great nephew Cooper earlier today, giving his best "say cheese" pose :) Straight out of camera JPG, no editing, sharpening adjustments at all.
