.... I have had the red crosses too but seem to have solved it (for now) by selecting a smaller size of the image when copying the BBcode for posting a link here. 2048px is ideal for online media.
 
Looking across Windermere towards Holme Fell from Ambleside. The best of a fairly unproductive weekend, photographically speaking. Taken with OMD 40-150 F4 pro at 78mm

.... The expectation from dealers I have spoken to is June but no timing certain yet, nor guaranteed, and they may just turn up in a surprise delivery. Numbers available will also depend when a photographer ordered. So not great news for those hungry for the OM-1.

Meanwhile, I am hungry for my OM-1 Battery Grip and Battery Charger with one battery bonus < All pre-ordered back on mid-February's launch day.

Are you waiting for one you have ordered?
 
Yes, and grip and battery. Pre-ordered, but towards the end of the pre-order window.

It's when I read that grey importers have had stock, I wonder what is going on.
 
Do any of you folks use bracketing. If you do is there a way to get the camera to shoot the three exposures consecutively or do you just need to press the shutter three times to complete the bracket? HDR excepted, I know that works differently.

And the second part of the question, what have you settled on as a bracket, 1/3rd, 1/2 etc.... I know it's scene dependent to some extent but I'm still getting a handle on the em5iii metering and how far I can push the files in post processing.

Not that I've found on my E-M10ii - my old Pentax used to fire off 3 shots when you pressed the shutter once which was very helpful.
Olympus in Bracket mode seems to take on, under, over (or the other order) which has caused some pain when I've accidentally engaged BKT without spotting the mistake leading to some poor exposure on single shots.
The easiest thing is probably to choose Sequential Low and fire a 3 shot burst.
I often just manually take 3 shots, spinning exposure compensation to get the highlights and then shadows indicators correct in the EVF and leave it to Lightroom to merge and deghost.
Only works on a static scene obviously.

Regarding the amount of bracketing it's scene dependent - I think I set 1/2 a stop as default.

I just bought a charger and battery from Park cameras, they had stock. just waiting for my camera which is on its way to me now. :D

I've been using bracketing for landscapes ever since the days of film and it was one of the first settings I changed when I got my OM-D Em1ii. I still think it's worth it. I use 1/3 stop each way usually (plus standard reading obviously).

.... HDEW for example, had a supply source for a short time but at a higher price. It's just that the demand has outstripped the supply but it's not just for Olympus / OMD products but other brands are in short supply as well I believe.

However, I don't doubt that OMDS are doing all they can in the circumstances we all find ourselves in. My supplier Ffordes told me that the last time they had such a high level of pre-order demand on a camera was over 10 years ago. It's logical in hindsight to think that they should have been more optimistic and produced more to meet the possibility of a high demand but that has to balance with quantities unsold stock in this modern world of ultra commercial cost efficiency. Personally I think that such ultra 'efficient' practices potentially damage customer relations and hence sales.

Keeping an eye on the OM online shop may give some reliable clues about supply timing because they will usually receive stock first.

Just checked, Park cameras still have chargers and batteries in stock as a kit. E-infinity still have stock of cameras at £1939 delivered.

I wonder how much all this unavailability will eat into retailers margins and viability. Potentially difficult times.

.... Good question. The bigger retailers like Wex and Park are more able to get through the tricky times I expect. The smaller ones will probably be helped by what other products they sell - Previously used camera gear and accessories perhaps. Those who own their own premises will be better able to survive too.

But even Wex must be having difficulties because I just received a letter offering me 20% off goods over £150. Others here will probably have received this letter too.

Absolutely preferring not to mention the B-word but Brexit and the consequent import hassles and costs will not have helped either! It's the bureaucratic delays which are a major hurdle too. I know of a kick-start product from an already established American company which has been ready to distribute via their appointed UK reseller since March but is still held up by import agreements although now expected to be resolved mid June.
 
I seem to have a corrupted database issur with Olympus Workspace. I wonder if anyone can offer any suggestions.

The thumbnails show the wrong image after any image adjustments are made. The preview pane will also display the wrong image unless I zoom in 1:1, when the correct image will be displayed. The thumbnails will revert to the correct photo if I "revert to original" in the right click menu.

I have the feeling that the Workspace database is somehow corrupted. The problem first appeared a few months ago, and then it went away. I think that it went away after I deleted a load of images. My suspicion is that the problem occurs when I have more than 10,000 photos.

Any help would be appreciated.

Pentax is where I've come from and it used to shoot them concurrently. Which fooled me once as I thought it was on low burst and there I was shooting brackets. I did realise quite quickly. It took me a little longer to sort out what my fat thumb had hit to get there.

I think it's probably worth it too, especially for landscapes. I haven't quite decided where the bias is for the files. I think I'm tending towards keeping the exposure more to the right than I used to with Pentax, without blowing it out. I'm finding a little bit more noise in bringing up the shadows and not as much room in the files as I'm used to, so I think I need to be a little less lazy with my exposure technique.

Evening all. I have bought myself a little em10 iv as a pocket camera/travel camera. I can’t work out (if it’s at all possible) if the D pad can be used as the focus point selector?
 
This was taken in March not long after I got the 40-150 F4 pro and I just went to the local woods to see what it could do

I have an E-M10 mark ii which can be configured so one press "up" on the d-pad then sets the d-pad to move the focus point around. If you get to the other side then it selects them all.
You can also configure the touchscreen to set focus on a touch (or focus and shoot) or nothing at all.
If you set focus on touch you can drag the point around on the screen even using the EVF.

I know they changed the interface for the mark 3 and 4 but I expect it should be there somewhere!

Thankyou. That gives me hope it’s doable! I’ll plough in again to the menu system.
 
just acquired a kenko 1.4HD t.c to use with my nikon 300mm f4 afs lens on the olympus 1-mkiii body ,obviously M/F but this is first shot with it handheld .. so its looking good gives me a bit of extra reach ,pleased with this first try out

Well I very nearly gave up but for the interests of people looking for this answer on the interwebz here’s how you do it.

Hit left on the D pad. This brings up the focusing overlay.
Press info button (why? Just do it!)
This then enables you to select using the up and down d pad between the thumb wheels or the d pad, select D pad.
Press ok
Now when you want to use the Dpad to select a focus point simply press left on D pad and then use the D pad to move the point around.

Simples:)
