Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

Picked my 8-25 up from LCE yesterday so arrived much sooner than I was expecting !

Its a little on the large side but still fine with my 5 mk iii.

I’ve never had a macro lens before so this is the closest focusing lens I’ve ever used, it focuses so close !

Oh dear! My finger seems to have twitched when my browser accidentally opened on a used 12-100 on sale at Wex. For some reason they have sent me an order acknowledgment. :$

Very nice. My first shots are always my cat :)

Hope you enjoy the lens. I use mine a lot.
It's a keeper - I think. (y)

What body are you using it on ?

Yes, the E-M1 ii. I’m impressed with the body’s ergonomics - in the dim and distant past I had the first iteration and it felt nothing near as good as this. Mind you, memories can be deceiving.

It is a real step up from the E-M1i.

Yes I was tempted by the EM1 mk2 but wanted as light as possible so went for the 5 mk iii - I think the 12-100 is perhaps a bit to big for the 5 mk iii

The 12-100, whilst being a little chunky, sits well on the M1. I can see it feeling a bit unbalanced on the M5. In my view, balance is at least as important as sheer weight.

Nearly time to learn what the OM-DS countdown clock was all about

Another 20 minutes of life wasted on b******t

Just take the weight by holding the lens with the left hand under it and right needs a lighter touch

That’s standard practice (or should be) for holding any camera, though I must admit it’s difficult with my Box Brownie.

Well that really was a waste of time just to say the name has changed -so no one uses Olympus any more they use OM System lol

Rob.

Well that was a DP squib of a build up and announcement :(

Especially considering AFAIK/recall stated(?) as to what would be happening shortly after OM-DS took over earlier this year.

Whilst I am pleased to know that the "Olympus vision legacy" will continue, it is enduring support for all the cameras still in use that now needs some attention to ensure that they keep "us" onboard!

Will they now be sending out stickers with the new name on it? Or maybe a recall to have new, rebranded, bodies fitted. :p

HI, is there a small but reasonably powerful speedlight available which would be suitable for the M10 mk II?

playing around with the new LR masking and PS sky replacements ,learning my way round it bit of a learning curve putting it mildly .. give me a couple of weeks on this one
