A thought but adds to weight and cost as they seem to be £200 new - prefer to get a body they got right from my point of view in the first place.

The buttons on the original E-M5 are well known for being mushy - this is not the case on the E-M1 or E-M5Mk2.

I much prefer the E-M5 style/size and the Mk2 has a couple of small improvements over the original such as the larger thumb grip and top dial placements that make it better to hold for me than the original.

The Panasonic bodies automagically correct the purple fringing in body whereas the Olympus bodies don't. I had a P7-14 briefly and used it on one of my E-M5 Mk1s - I never saw hideous fringing that others have experienced with this lens, but the flare sometimes had purple in it.

Nothing that couldn't be corrected or removed though - worth remembering that any lens with a bulbous front element will be prone to flare so it is also important to compose in a way that minimises it anyway.

Seeing that I'd be using an UWA frequently, and that I dislike the ergonomics of the EM5, I'm not going with the one I've mail ordered and have returned it for refund.

Going to a Mk II or an EM! is outside my price range.

There's also a 'titanium' EM5-ii which comes with a special strap and a piece of numbered cardboard in a leather case. Oooooooh.

I can see that the O7-14 would be a nice lens to own - I briefly owned the P7-14 but this was only constant f4 (you could argue it doesn't matter for landscapes which is probably where this lens would get used the most) and produced some horrid purple blotches (which weren't always easy to remove in PP) when fitted to an Oly body. I will add the O7-14 to my wishlist :)

The 8mm Fisheye is a bit different - it is a fairly specialist lens and I am more than happy with my 'cheap' Samyang 7.5 lens - it is a lens that doesn't get used that much IMHO so can't see the justification for the price premium - having said that I wonder what the bokeh will be like at the minimum focus distance?
 
Alright guys. Any comments form using the Panasonic 20mm on the OMD cams? Specifically interested in the EM10 and CA purple fringing and some people say green spots too in extreme circumstances. I am aware of the lens focusing slowly (on any body) and possible banding issues at high ISOs. I've personally never experienced this myself using this lens on my Panasonic. I want to switch to an EM10 for IBIS but I love this lens and wanted to keep using it. I'm a little worried about the CA issues some people say need correcting in post all the time.
I'm also intrigued to see if there is anything new in the EM5 MKII firmware that auto corrects for CA in camera when using Panny lenses. Does anyone know?
 
Have owned a number of P20s and used the lens a lot on Olympus bodies (EM5s and an EM1) and I never saw CA.

You've mentioned the slightly slower AF and the potential for banding at high ISO but this never bothered me and the latter I didn't really see anyway as I limit high ISO use to 3200/6400.

It is a truly special lens and I am currently waiting patiently for another one to come up for sale to use on my E-M5 Mk2 so I can be reunited with its qualities - size, sharpness and bokeh.

And yes, with IBIS it is even better :)

Does anyone know what the difference is between the BLS-5 and BLS-50? I've found that the BLS-5 is basically a BLS-1 with an extra contact but what the BLS-50 adds has eluded me.

Nope. People on here should not be using the art filters. Step away from the knob. That's for a different sort of person. I am an art filter denyer. Unless you hate pp that is. If you hate editing on the PC then 'art' away.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with seeing what the camera does. If you don't like it, fine. No, I'm not a big fan of PP and I didn't have time as I had to put my 2 children to bed.

My edit was done before I saw your reply,adding the last sentence only. Besides. The post was, and is meant to be offensive. And tease art filter users.
Despite loving messing around with pp it's clear that many people don't like spending a lot of time at the PC. And it suddenly occurred to me that the art filters might be a suitable substitute. So I added the sympathy sentence. I'm tinkering with the EM5ii HDR mode on my new camera at the moment. But don't tell anybody.

I'm still up for the bun fight though.

Ahh, you've mellowed after a cup of horlicks :hug:

My issue with PP is entirely my fault as I'm no good at it. This was the first time I've used an art filter and now I find myself cast into the photographic wilderness.:coat: I really need to learn - generally I do have a late night fiddle in front of the laptop ( but that's another story.. ), the results aren't always as I'd hoped.
