Olympus OM-D E-M5, E-M1, E-M10 - Mk1, Mk2 & Mk3 Owners Thread

Or buy the 12-40 from hdew at £499

Get the 12-40 second hand. You won't pay anywhere near £800 - more like half.

is it worth £1499 for the EM1 and 12-40 brand new?

My though at the moment is EM10 and 45mm 1.8 and 60mm Macro at the moment

Oops, forgot about the GX7 stabilisation. It came out shortly after I got my EM5, much to my annoyance.

Not my problem, i shoot Nikon. :D

If you like MF then there is a trio of Voigtlanders, too...

I think there's four Voigtlander f0.95's now or at least there will be when the 10.5mm arrives so that'll be...

10.5, 17.5, 25 and 42.5mm f0.95's.

I had the 25mm and sold it and immediately regretted it. It was one of the best lenses I've ever had.

Bet these Voigtlander are dear are they AF or MF

Meaning you would of preferred to get the GX7 over the EM5?

My worried is getting stung paying Custom

My worried is getting stung paying Custom

That happened to me once. Got stung for about £80 when postie delivered a lens from America. It's only happened the once though and I've never been stung for anything coming from the far east.

Some issues reported by some users;
High ISO banding with the 20mm
Rattle snaking with the 25mm

Also, you may need to disable one of the IS systems if both lens and body have it.

Otherwise, all dandy.

Agreed on the rattle snaking with the 25 f/1.4, mine did it occasionally when I had one (on the the E-M5).

When I use my 100-300 Pany lens I just turn the IS off on the lens, the IBIS works well enough for me.

Damn that £800 EM5 plus 12-40 is a great deal. Makes my EM5,hld6,12-50 and 45 for £600 from Amazon pre Xmas seem not quite so great now......hehe.

Almost 3 months in and still no urges of GAS.
I think i have finally been cured.
Well regarding changing systems.
I dont include lenses as i have since bought the 25mm,40-150,75-300 and 9mm bodycap fisheye.....hehe

Has anyone got the cheaper Kit Lens that comes with the OMD is it 12 - 50 Lens and anyone with the PZ lens that comes with the EM10 how are they???
I have that lens. It came as a kit lens. I doesn't have the wide aperture. And it's not short. The same length as the 12-40. But it's still a nice lens, weather proof and macro.

I didn't give it away, I've loaned it. I'm not THAT nice :p

Oh though u given it away silly me lol.

Yeah... Until you try the 25/1.4....

I hate this hobby :)

Is there a difference between the D and the DG on the 25 1.4 ?

Don't get me start the pair of you I have promise Mrs it only be 2 lens lol

Well, I just upgraded and apart from the fact its not trashed my settings which came as a surprise I'd say its a bit better.

CAF test on 2.2 - Took 11, could use 8, would use 3 (was done in three small busts)
CAF test on 3.0 - Took 6, could use 3, would use 2 (just a single quicker walk)

Not scientific at all and my wee lad who I was getting to walk toward the camera was not pleased to be asked to do it again!

This was on the 75mm at 1.8 in my living room walking toward the window but for the 3.0 test the light dimmed (2.2 had 400/500 shutter and all ISO 200 - the 3.0 had 160/200 shutter with ISO at 320 to 400)
