To be honest I dont have a problem with the size of the camera I think it more for the Portrait button :)

Really? I would never have guessed. I'm near Hockley.

I'm really craving one of these OM-Ds, not least for its high ISO performance.

I lost a few indoor evening shot opportunities whilst away at the weekend, as I generally won't go higher than ISO800 on my E-PL3; it's just too noisy for my tastes, even after de-noising in PP.

But, 1.) I need to save up a bit of money. 2.) How do I get it past SWMBO without her noticing? :eek: LOL !!

You can push it to ISO 6400 if you don't mind a bit of noise - anything upto 3200 is very clean.

In all honesty though, my GX1 (and the G3 I had) is perfectly usable upto 3200 :thumbs:

The newer generation of m43 sensors - the 16mp ones are much better in the higher iso noise

Crikey, so close and I never noticed it. And I've driven past it umpteen times lately getting my car fixed at Inchcape.

Note to self - must open my eyes :lol:
 
Anyone finding the battery life has improved with the latest firmware? I would think it should now that the IBIS is not whirring away the whole time.

Just about to charge mine for the 1st time since the initial charge after removing from the box :thumbs:

Have taken approx 405 shots on a charge with a fair bit of menu fiddling too

The lake is about 5-10 mins walk/stroll from the car park

EDIT - Sorry assuming your mobility is 100% like me

Ive to be honest have found the Battery life pretty good and Ive only charged it once since the first charge. I think it gets better after a few charges too like all batteries.

GRIP jeez have tried one today love it but is it worth the money hmmm

Not sure if this works or not. First time Ive tried to do this sort of photo with bright sunlight shining into the camera since i can use the LCD so wont damage my eyes.

Be honest folks I want to learn and help on how to take such shots properly

Yeah it was taken this evening so only had room lights on and in fact I was just messing about.

Might try a proper go tmr and have it on a slower shutter speed and being able to lower ISO was just messing about to be honest and my daughter who is 2 and half was touch screen for me to take images ha ha

I like it - IMHO the flare is a little harsh and the foreground could be a little brighter - but overall it has a nice warm feel to it :thumbs:
 
My Olympus 40-150 Zoom Kit arrived from Amazon today - thanks for the tip off Andy (Thunderbird)...

The lens is very light and silver to match the OM-D :thumbs:

Seems very sharp and is a little smaller, lighter and less bulky than the 45-200 panasonic.

The PEN Street Case is big enough to house the OM-D with the 40-150mm fitted and probably the kit lens or the 45mm prime in there too. It is fully lined with a bright orange padded interior and has one detachable divider.

And the 8Gb Kingston SD card is a class 10.

All for £130 :thumbs:

The annoying thing with the 40-150 the the zoom ring is back to front, why did they do that. :shrug:
 
FYI, just picked up the PanaLeica 25mm f1.4 from Amazon for £404.92 (linky).

They appear to have had a price drop today (but only 6 left at the time of posting this), and this is the best price I've seen to date. When you include the £50 cashback, it's £355 all in! That's even cheaper than the grey imports for genuine UK stock with warranty.

I'm loving my new MFT kit btw, you can get good glass for less than £400 a pop, which beats the hell out of my Canon L glass.
 
My recently purchased PL25 is lovely but it makes lots of noises - it chatters away to itself even when I'm not doing anything! I was enjoying a walk on Sunday and it never shut up - it was like having a budgie hanging off my shoulder, it was quite funny. Is that normal??

Yes it is normal, mine does it too some of the time. It is known as the "rattlesnake" syndrome and is well documented on the net. :D
 
£400 lens and it a rattlesnake my gosh
 
What buds me why should it make so much noise for the price?
 
Put the camera in auto iso and it will change the iso rather than the aperture and all should go quiet. ;) It is the aperture opening and closing in bright light. Noisy aperture mechanism.

Off on a trip to London today - bit of sightseeing, Christmas shops and a few pictures with the OM-D. Am taking all primes - 7.5, 14, 20 & 45. Hopefully might see a bit of blue sky at some point :shrug:
