Has anyone had any fogging / mist in there EVF i've been out twice recently and had it for maybe 20 mins till its cleared itself up ..Tbh i could still see okay through it when i looked but im still abit wary of it :thinking:

I've not had that, but probably due to extreme changes in the environment the camera has been in, warm car to cold outdoors maybe???

Yes it was from being in a car in at the most a 5 min drive too going out in the cold but I just would've expected it too be on the outside rather than inside of the viewfinder.

I would imagine it is the size of the actual area of the focus point, you can size it to suit so making it small (single square) would be the answer to this.

Throttle: Yes I have had that before and it does go after a short while. Mine occurred after walking around for a couple of hours in heavy rain.

Is the E-M5 weatherproof?

The E-M5 camera body has weatherproof construction. Weatherproof integrity is preserved when using Micro Four Thirds weatherproof lenses or Four Thirds weatherproof lenses (Super High Grade and High Grade lenses) when mounted using the MMF-3 Micro Four Thirds to Four Thirds Adapter.

To ensure weatherproofing the following is essential. Ensure that the Accessory Port cover below the hot shoe is in place when not being used to mount accessories. Additionally, the PBH cover on the base of the camera must be properly secured when the Power Battery Holder HLD-6 is not mounted. When the HLD-6 is mounted, ensure it is correctly aligned when mounted on the camera to preserve weatherproof integrity.

When going from extremes in temperature (for example, moving from an air conditioned environment to a hot environment or vice versa), condensation may form inside the camera. Even though the E-M5 is weatherproof, it still may contain humid air because the camera needs to "breathe" to compensate for changes in internal pressure when lenses are zoomed, particularly long focal length zoom lenses. The condensation will disappear in a few minutes when the temperature of the camera has stabilized in relation to the shooting environment.

So im assuming its nothing too worry about thankfully :)
 
Ok folks I tested the 40-150 out today and think it a lovely lens. I did this below shoot using the Tele convertor that is built in the camera i turned it on as i was not close enough to take it so it was taken at 96mm x 2

Yes now you have posted that I remember checking it out and reading the same thing. It only happen the once with me but like I said I was out in heavy rain and we did go into a hot pasty shop for lunch dripping wet through.

That looks good Andrew, I've never used that function.
Excellent detail for something so far away Glenn ;)

Thanks it something good to have but shame it only effective for Jpeg and not Raw :(

Another cracker Glenn, looks almost apocalyptic, the 100-300 is one of my fav lenses. When I think of how I used to lug my 5D2 + 100-400 around :bonk:
 
Great image Glenn but you should have run over and told the gent not to look at the sun as it will damage his eyes. ;)

Thanks again. The move to m4/3 was the best I ever made. I just wouldn't have lugged my 50D and 100-400 to Cyprus, where I took this.

Must get myself to a boat harbour and take some shots as those boat images are lovely
 
What is the 100-300 like on the OMD. I know the OIS need be turned off as wont work on omd since got ibis

It works fine, I've tested it with is in lens and ibis in body on, no issues

Hmmm like a long zoom I've the oly 40-150 lovely sharp lens thinking selling to get a 100-300 already

What version of Lightroom are you using, and do you turn the noise reduction setting up in poor light situations.

Colin, I use Lightroom 4.2. I turn down NR in the camera to retain as much detail - never ever turn it up. The OMD files require only minimal noise reduction in Lighroom, no third party noise reduction processing is needed. Which is quite amazing for any camera let alone a micro four thirds one.

There's a good selection of them on eBay from various manufacturers to suit different tastes and budgets. I ordered the Ciesta version (I already have Gariz on one of my other cameras). I tend to use them because I like to protect the bottom plate from scratching. I can vouch for the quality of the Kenji Leather one too, but it's pricey.
 
Grrr should I get a grip should I not arghhhhhh hardest thing to decide on
