Hmmm Might need to start practising Manuel focus see if I can get hang of it before buying a fisheye

Is there any tips on this and anything to select on OMD to get it easier?

Sharpest lens in my bag for sure. I like the focal length but doing most of my landscapes with my old ef 400 l it is no surprise really :lol:

Not much focussing required with the 7.5 as just selecting f5.6 and nearly everything is in focus :)

That a good tip :) Anyone want to lend me their fisheye :) not sure if it be my thing unless anyone nearby has one
 
I've still got a hankering for the new Oly 60mm macro. The latest Digital Camera mag has a macro lens test, across all formats (canon, Nikon, sigma, Sony, etc) where the Oly 60mm won.

Any of you long time MFT user know if we can do Star Trails photos on the OMD? I dont think we can can we?

Looks good Julian, I have the Leica 45mm dg elmarit which is superb I think. I wouldn't mind having a go with the 60 to see how it compares against the 45 though.

I bet it hard to find something focus on in low light. I know Manuel focus the way to go. Wonder how long need leave live bulb on and how stop over exposing the shot

Read up on live bulb mode in the manual - the whole idea is it displays the image every xx number of seconds so that you don't overexpose - as soon as you are happy you release the button

Will do some testing tonight :) If the stars are out in the back garden before I do a walk best practise and know what we doing before we go out...

You going to try it?
 
You take mulitiple shots and stack them together using a stacking program like Deepsky stacker here linky

Is this the best way have doing it than doing a bulb shutter picture

No good for me as I am a Mac User

That is how people do it, I use a mac also so go find a stacking program for a mac. I have not done much star stuff but there a few on here that do that type of photography and I'm sure this is the preferred method.
 
Cheers will look into this might try do some tonight but might be boring.

Going go in the woods later try some macro with kit lens :)

Macro is surprisingly good with the kit lens I think, enjoy.
 
Wasn't really a good outing today :( couldn't find much and no sun arrive home out it comes grrrrr

The panny 7-14 be nice for Landscape as I do alot of it in summer and when abroad but what this problem with purple though it was on the 20mm?

What the best way of avoiding this problem?

I wish I could answer that - when we lived there the island was completely unspoiled, literally zero tourism. You could drive for miles and never see a soul, just acres of fascinating Roman ruins (which are now tourist attractions with fences and barriers) which you could roam freely for hours and never bump into another person. I didn't have a camera in those days, a shame because the picture opportunities would have been unreal. The last time I saw Aphrodite's rock there were tanks in the background!

Right folks I am finding the provided flash lacking compare to what I had on my 7d what flash shall I buy for it pls but hopefully not too big

Thanks Lindsay. I lived in Cyprus from 1975 -77, it was sooo much quieter - and cheaper!!

(The provided flash is a small toy-like appendage.)
The Flash story seems to be : Olympus make a series of decent full-size flashes which unfortunately cost more and have poorer recycle times than the equivalent Metz or recent Yongnuo ones.
All you need to do is find which of those manufacturers codes to hunt for.

This question will be answered with far more depth in your friendly neighbourhood specialist forum of which you are now a member. ;)

Tell me about it! This is turning out to be a very expensive move, well into pro cost territory. I don't get along with kit lenses so I'm already plotting the following:

12-35 f2.8 (gawd the price)
25 f1.4
45 f1.8

And just this minute my Oly 40-150 kit arrived - it looks gorgeous and the silver is well funky (I think the silver lenses look ferocious on a black body). My OMD is out for delivery this morning!

oh god what if I don't like it after all this ..... :baby:
