Ahh you were right mate - just been to pick my new beastie up from London Camera Exchange in Derby and they said that the Jessops price of £599 is with the normal lens not the EZ !! However, they still matched the price so I'm chuffed - great service from them :)

Out of interest I called Jessops as its not clear on their site and they confirmed it was the normal lens not the EZ for £599...

Mind you I think I'll be selling the EZ anyway as I don't think i will like the power zoom !

I was worried about that but as you can adjust the speed of the zoom it works well. you can also control it remotely by your mobile so its ace on a tripod
 
Thought so. I'd probably sell the lens anyway, but you would get more for the power zoom so I'd be thinking of that. And if I didn't sell then it would be a smaller package to carry. Having said that I seem to recall the other version gets better reviews...

it says "This kit includes the Olympus 14-42mm non-power zoom lens" seems fairly clear really, but you have to click on description to see it

I think they might have changed it - I'm sure it said EZ lens when I looked !

Just a quick question about warranty ?!

When I bought the camera I got LCE to match the 2 year warranty that Jessops were offering - so it worked out as 12 months with Olympus and an extra 6 months with them when you complete a card in the box (or online as I did) and LCE covered the final 6 months...

But when I went onto the Olympus site and registered the camera it gave me 24 months standard warranty and then the extra 6 months !! Its now covered until January 2017 !!!!!!

Pleased with that !
 
sunny day wandering about with the dog, this kit lens makes a great walk about compact camera. saying that I cant wait for the adaptor for the raynox to arrive, and the 12mm 2.0:eek::p

Had the Granddaughter's round for the afternoon so being a nice day spent it in the garden watching them playing and taking some snaps.:)

Also looking forward to getting my 75mm F1.8 today.:olympus:

I think I am going to go with a E-M10 at the turn of the year, but alongside my D7k for a while :-)
 
I'm really torn...I use my d7000 maybe 3 times a year for motorsport and its awesome for it...but I'm still hankering after the Em10. I cant seem to find anyone who uses it for motorsport though ( even as a hobbiest )
 
It'll be fine mate, I'm pretty sure. Have you searched mu-43 for anyone who has used it for it? I came across a bloke at The Dukeries Rally who was using an EM1 and he said it was totally fine and I know srhmoto uses m4/3 for motorsport and I know someone has used the Oly EPL5 for some panning with some success so I'd imagine the em10 with a viewfinder would be absolutely fine.
 
Just make the change. If you're hankering after it then you won't be happy until you get it. Or read that link in the 'need a good kicking' thread... makes you think a little.

I think the D7000 will come out when I am out and about on my own and when I take it diving. I want it for taking above water shots on diving holidays as I don't like getting my D7000 out of the underwater housing too much, it will also be great to just pick up and take more photos of the kids when we pop out!

If its that good, it will all be traded in and a nice new underwater setup will be purchased :-)

hi mate where do you live? I am just trying to see if its viable to meet up so you can try my em10

For panning horrizontally like I have seen on you photo site it should be fine, for vehicles coming head on just prefocus and let the 9 frames a second take care of it like i did here. ;)

Yes, that's what I do with the d7000. I prefocus, pan with the car and then click a shot or two. Seems to work ok
 
First Pic With my New 75mm f1.8

Had to try it out, nothing special just Dexter hiding from the thunder,we have to cover him over to make him feel secure.:)

Shot on the E-M10 wide open at f1.8 ISO 1250



The narrow dof is quite remarkable as the 100% crop shows.
