As a teen I sooooo wanted an Olympus but couldn't afford it - today, out of the blue, I was handed a black ali case that contains an OM-10, Oly 50mm f1.8, Vivitar 70-210 and flash with a 2x convertor too - oh, and a Cullman tripod :)

The camera needs batteries but I'm told it works and the glass appears perfect

So - what to do with it all ??? I know its worth Sod all, so do I throw a few quid at it and see if it works or just bin it ???

As this is the film forum I'm guessing I know the response :D

You've already worked out the answer.
Batteries, check the light seals (they might need replacing, easy job). Get down to poundland for some Agfa Vista. Get shooting.

Start off with some Agfa Vista
Check Flickr for shots taken with different films. Order online for what you fancy trying.
Still plenty of various emulsions about.
7dayshop
AG Photographic
Plenty of eBay sellers.

While you're in Poundland, have a look at the button-cell blister packs some do. Takes two AG13, if memory serves. So, batteries and film for £2 :)

Cor blimey, the number of times I've heard you say you'll never use film again, old fashioned, living in the past etc. And now look, here you are:lol: getting all giddy and excited and asking about films. Next thing you'll be checking reciprocity failure on long exposures and lusting after a 'blad.:lol: welcome aboard the good ship slippery slope.

^^^^^^^^^^

WHS :) :)

Don't bin it because of it's value, they're built like tanks and will last a lifetime.
Has it got the manual converter?

Check the "first film camera..." sticky for bits of advice we've put together (tho TBH you've already had most of it!).

Good point - its for the bin now :D

In fact - anyone near Barnsley want it for free? Just gotta collect it :)

I suspected your heart wasn't in it, its probably a bit too complicated.;):D

Actually, my camera club robbed me of any interest :(

I explained what it was (most have NEVER used a film camera !!!) and said I'd put together a challenge

Of 43 members only 3 were up for it in principle, but I know one or two wouldn't have liked the rules as they'd have found it too 'competitive' :(

Hence if you can collect it - you can have it - together with everything in the opening post

i fear that one sinner may have got away brothers ,,,,we tried our best though :(
