I picked up one of these during the week and am scanning the first set of negs from it at the moment. For those who don't know it, it's a fixed 35mm f2.8 point and shoot. Very compact, supposed to be water resistant, has a centred viewfinder relative to the lens, so at close distances you only need to do parallax correction on the vertical instead of along a diagonal. I absolutely love it - it even has spot metering mode. And the lens? From first impressions, wow it's sharp. I'll stick some pics up here once I properly get them scanned and spotted, but it's very impressive. Definitely something I'll be keeping to hand for those snapshot moments.

I have one which I bought new and I still use and love it. I have some prints from the mju-ii that are just as good to look at as those from my Nikon SLRs/Nikkors - the lens is truly excellent. It's just a great little camera that's so nice to handle and really is pocketable. I am rarely out without it. Only quibble really is that it defaults to using the flash and you have to switch it off if you want to.

I have one of the Zoom 80 variants picked up cheap from a charity shop sometime last year (part of a small lot).. dodgy switches on the slide-cover and the flash pop-up make it awkward to use. When I finally get the test roll finished I'll be attacking it with the screwdrivers to see if I can fix it.

Ahh, the version I have doesn't have popup flash, though it is annoying having to turn the flash off all the time. Definitely useful form factor though, and it's nice having the depth of field that 35mm gives you but in a compact camera.

I'll put few images up in a dedicated thread tomorrow, but I'm really happy with this one:

I have a couple, just avoid buying them on eBay unless you want to pay £50-60 for one, i got my first one from rocky cameras for £12 and the other one in a second hand shop for £10.

The lens is surprisingly sharp, i used Tri-X 400 when i first used it and was rather surprised at how sharp the scans were. My gripes with it though are that you need to run the flash off every time you open it up and the somewhat noisy film advance motor.

I got mine on eBay (admittedly about 2 years ago) cost me a fiver. Money well spent for an immaculate little machine that gives good results-- it gets quite a lot of hype in some places though it's not the giant-killer some folk say ...apart from the lack of controls the lens doesn't compare (in my experience ) with the T2/T3/ Minilux class of optics--but then it was only £5. Showerproof is definitely useful 10 months of the year in the UK... what I would NOT do is buy one (or indeed anything at all) from Rocky Cameras. Google him and you will see it's a real gamble whether you get anything other than crap, and it can be a big problem getting refunds....

As Soprendo says it's tiny and very easy to carry everywhere with you.

Yeah, I'm leaving mine in the pocket of my cycling jacket for those grab shots on the way to and from work.
