Olympus lenses on Sony a7 - adapter issue

Yes
I've an old olympus shift lens I am using on a Sony a7 via a Gobe adapter. I've noticed that when the lenses are mounted, the lenses are not vertically aligned (the little red dot showing the focus point on the barrel isn't at the top and is slightly before midnight looking at the lens from the front). This is not a problem with standard lenses but with the shift lens I get steps in the frames when shifting, I guess because the lens isn't moving exactly vertically (or horizontally if I go that way).

Question 1: does anybody else use an Olympus to Sony adapter that lines lenses up perfectly (please don't say only the expensive Novoflex ones do this...)?

Question 2: Does anybody know how I can my adapter to line the lenses up right?

On many of these dumb adapters you can open up the screws to realign the dot, does your adapter appear to be in 2 parts? inner and outer? I had to do this for one of my M42 adapters. It wasn't mounting dead on and wouldn't focus to infinity. I opened the screws and turned the outer section slightly, tightened up and she was good to go

I think that's what I may have to do. There is the black tube bit with a silver ring (front and back). The front where the lens goes has four little screws I can try loosening. My concern is with the location of the little arm that comes the aperture of the lens as this seems fixed to the tube so will relocate slightly if I alter the front mount. Might be worth a try, though.

I just checked and the adapter I have for Canon FD to Sony lines up spot on. I'll check that with my Canon tilt-shift tomorrow to make sure the bad alignment I am seeing in the photos is down to the misaligned adapter.

If you can't adjust it or are worried about something jamming if you do you could just buy another cheaper one from a different manufacturer.

I have some Novoflex adapters and also some cheap ones and lovely though the Novoflex ones are it's hard to justify the cost as I must have been lucky as I've had no problem with the cheap ones. In your place if there are any problems or worries fiddling with it I think I'd just get back on evil bay and buy a different one.

Fully agree, that's why Q1 was whether anybody could name a manufacturer besides Novoflex that lines up properly, rather than me just buying randomly...

K&F Concept seem well made and aren't the cheapest or the dearest.
