I have recently moved from FF Nikon to Olympus MFT as I'm too old for the weight of the former. I have a new OM-5 and I've just added a 100-400mm IS zoom (not the very new IS II, this one used from 2022ish, I think).

I'm confused though; my lens has IS and my camera has IS, should they both be turned on or should I have only one of them working and if so, which one?

Based on my experience with Olympus , it’s best to have lens i.s priority switched on in menu , the lens does not synch with your camera i.b.i.s anyway . . And I..b.i.s even on the 1 series bodies is allegedly only good up to around 300mm anyway …

On the 100-400 mk1 you only get lens IS.

3 stops I believe.
Plus pitch and yaw ,with a firmware update Terry but I’m unsure whether that’s lens or body related .. I’m unsure re the OM5 as I’ve never had one
