This is incredibly frustrating.

When I press the OK button to open up the Quick Menu, both the ISO value and WB are highlit in green. Whichever button I then press on the 4-way controller it immediately goes to the focus point selector and won't go anywhere else. Eventually if I keep pressing and pressing it seems to sort itself out, and I then have access to the other settings.

Should I be contacting Olympus (or supplier) about this?

Have you recently upgraded the firmware? If not perhaps try that first.

Doesn’t sound right. Have you tried turning it off, removing the battery for about 30s then turning it on again?

If that doesn’t fix it, try a firmware update if there’s one available. If that fails backup your settings then do a full factory reset.

pressing the four way will bring up focus point selector . But pressing the o.k button should take you the main adjustments screen .are you sure that your fingers are not doing both at the same time ?

No, it's not a firmware update. it was one of the first problems I had with the camera when I first got it.

I could try the off/on routine next time! I think its the most recent firmware; factory reset sounds a bit of a challenge!

I've tried it over and over again and I'm defintely not pressing both at once.

Thanks very much for the replies and sorry for the late response. It seems to have gone back to normal now.

For those with an EM1.2 I moved the lever surrounding the AEL/AFL button from 1 to 2 (or vv) and that seemed to sort it, but it could have been a co-incidence...... Anyone know what that lever is supposed to do.....?

D’oh, sound like a setting you had with the lever then. There are various options with the lever which can be changed in the menus, I would think yours could be set to mode 2. See page 124 of the manual.

Thank you snerkler . You're very generous with your time!
. Not a problem, it’s not as though I don’t have time on my hands at the moment ;)
It is working at the moment with the Fn lever in position 1 or 2!

And in neither position are the ISO and WB adjustment boxes both highlighted.

Intermittent faults are so difficult to sort out.:banghead:
Hmm odd. Have you done any firmware updates on it and has the gremlin transferred across in the next firmware.

No, it had the latest firmware (v3.0) on it last autumn when I bought it; i don't think there's a newer version, is there?
Yes mine's on 3.2 - I think the latest one was only released last month. Always worth updating to the latest one in situations like this.
