Olympus E-510

Fantastic value for money and can be had for £400 ish for the twin-lens version. I started out with the E-510 before upgrading to the E-3.

The Kit lenses are superb quality and the ZD lenses are second to none (According to DIWA tests)

The built in IS and 2x crop factor are a bonus for me.

There are a few Oly users on here, but not many :)

Well, I can guarantee that your value and features per pound ratio will be second to none! The E-510 is a superb camera with built in IS, so every lens you attach will have IS, it also has live view which is very useful on times, as well as auto sensor cleaning and dust protection built in.

In addition to this, the kit lenses supplied are undoubtedly the best kit lenses supplied with any camera system.

On the value for money chart... it can't be beat!!!

If you want to pay more money, then of course Canon and Nikon come into play, but please don't look at the low end plastic Nikons.

Much appreciated.

Hehe... nowt different to the Canikons on here, but the difference is that I still say try out your camera first, make sure it feels right in your hand before you buy. If you don't like it, then try something else.
