I thought I'd share this with people on this website. I have a thumbs up grip which I was previously using on a Fujifilm X-E2. Recently I decided to try it on the tiny Olympus e-pl6. It turns out that this was a big mistake.
I acquired the camera from a family member and was considering getting the vf-4 as I like the idea of a tilting viewfinder as on the Panasonic gx7. However, the thumbs up grip is now permanently stuck on the camera. I've tried sliding a pen knife under it and have just scratched the camera.
I strongly advise any Olympus camera owners not to use a thumbs up grip on their camera(s). I'm now unable to use any accessories for the hot shoe on this camera and it has also covered a couple of the buttons making them difficult to use.
This is deeply frustrating and hopefully posting this will dissuade others from making the same mistake.
Of course, if anyone knows of any possible solutions, then I would be keen to try them.
Thank you
