Olympus 35 SP Leaf shutter jammed

My Olympus 35 SP shutter appears to be jammed. Before I open the wallet up for a service, is there anything I can try myself? Failing that, any particularly recommended repairers?

That is not a do it yourself option.
If it is in otherwise excellent condition it would be worth having done professionally.

If the SP is the same construction as the RC, it's relatively straightforward to get the lens assembly off from the front. I've just googled and found this first hit;

I also posted a step by step in my 35RC project thread for removing the lens elements which will get you down to the aperture blades. I haven't opened up a 35SP so it may not be exactly the same but worth a look.

Many thanks chaps. The SP is in great condition so well worth preserving.

Unfortunately it seems that the RC and RD have quite different shutter mechanisms to the SP.

No problem, looks like the entire front assembly needs to be removed to get to the shutter mech;

If the SP is in good condition I'd agree that a pro CLA is more likely the best option. I don't mind fiddling with a 35RC but they're worth less ;0)
