hello all ,

names wullie , came across the site when doing random searches on google regarding photography info and thought I would register here so I can "attempt" to get better at photography.

bit bout myself :

come from Clydebank which is a town just outside Glasgow in west Dunbartonshire , place is pretty much a concrete jungle with the odd gem to be found within the clutter which is always fun to try and find.

9 times out of 10 I take my pics using my iphone 4s which im ashamed of and I would like to change that stat to 9 times out of 10 I use my camera. speaking of camera I currently have a basic canon 1000d (rebel xs in some regions), I no its not the greatest of cameras but the wife was able to pick it up kinda cheap for me to at least start attempting to try photography at a newer level.

look forward to getting to no you all and hopefully form some friendships along the way.

orite wullie welcome to the forum bud i have seen some good photos taken with the i4 join flicker and fire up some photos mate

 Wullie and welcome aboard.

We're a friendly bunch, so jump in and make yourself at home.
Plenty of helpers on hand to get you on your way with getting more out of your camera . . . and nothing at all wrong with a 1000d.
You're the one who's taking the photos, the camera's just a tool although once you get to grips with it a DSLR will open up a whole new world of possibilities for you.

Hi there and welcome to the group

(Apologies for being a little late in reply, I was on the Isle of Skye for 3 weeks with no 3G signal - bliss!!)

I hope you are getting along well with your camera and this group on here. We're a friendly bunch and eager to help when we can.

Have you thought about joining a local camera club? I joined about 1 month after I got my first SLR, the camera I use now and I swear the friends I have made there are a godsend and almost like a free tutor each week - great fun!

Anyway, hello from a fellow Scot (Stirling here)
Enjoy the group and chat again soon :-)
