Hi Folks,
i currently shoot with an older Nikon 300mm f2.8 lens, auto focus but thats about it (i guess its one from the early 90s). I also use a sigma 2x converter, as i've been told the nikon ones won't fit.
I'm finding that the 2x is creating too soft an image, especially of birds which is what i mainly do.
My question is would the nikon tc 1.7ii be any better, and will it work with my lens? Oh and i currently shoot with a D7000.

Thanks for that.
From what i can work out (via Ken rockwells site), i think its an AF-I lens but i don't know for sure. All i know is it is an early auto focus lens, it has a 39mm drop in filter.
But that link seems to sugest i should be ok.
