Hi all.Just joined and looking for an anwser.... Have been searching in the murky depths of the loft and have come across a circular negative slide with about 15 pics.Looking at the options to post an image on this forum to show what i am triying to describe but cant appear to find one.Want to know what projector it was used on.Hope some one can help. Thanks all.Rob.

It may be a product of the Kodak disc camera which was short lived. Can you scan the disk so that we can give you a better answer ??

As suggested it may be the old 'Kodak 110 Disc' above?

That sounds exactly like Kodak disc film, its not for projection, you print the pictures from the negatives. Disc film was never much of a success as firstly it had very small negative (even smaller than the earlier 110 film) and to print it you were supposed to use a newer 6 element enlarging lens designed for the smaller format.

Unfortunately not a lot of labs (apart from Kodak ones) bothered buying these new lenses, they just continued using the old 3 element lenses for larger formats so the prints were usually quite disappointing. Kodak eventually stopped making disc film in 1999 although they had stopped production of the actual cameras years before. Incidently though, the emulsions on disc film were usually a couple of generations ahead of other film types as it was Kodak's policy to test new emulsions on disc film first (to see if it could improve the mediocre quality).

Hi,

If you've got a disc like that in the picture, their already processed, it will be difficult to get the pictures printed or scanned though as it is quite an unusual format which has not been supported for quite some time.

I do know that scanitall can scan them though:

Select 'Kodak Disc Wheel' on the drop down list, its 40p per frame (so £6 for the whole disc). I've used that company for film scans before and they give very good quality scans, I wouldn't expect great results from disc film though because as I said the negative is absolutely tiny.

FWIW Process C22 in Margate, Kent develop disc film - £20 inc a set of 5x4" prints.

They also do scanning to CD, but they're more expensive than Scan-it-all at £2 a frame or £15 for a whole disc.

e2a: seems like they 'enhance and restore the images with state-of-the-art software', included in their scanning price, which may explain the difference.

Yeah, it was a daft idea at the time. 110 was bad enough.

You can get some really good results from 110, my tiny little Pentax Auto 110 SLR produces great sharp pictures with quite a lot of detail, the problem with 110 was that most cameras were simple point and shoots with poor exposure control and very basic lenses which limited the quality quite a lot.
