Hi I have been taking pictures since the 1960's. Starting off with my dads 120 roll film camera with the flip down belows and every shot was considered - considered because you only had 12 shots.
The next stage was about 1975 when my wife bought me a Pratica MTL SRL camera with an M42 mount. That was it I could buy different lenses 28mm, 132mm now I was set, well almost, until I saw the must have 500mm mirror lens. During this time I went from 12 shots a month to, well at the 7 rolls of 36 in a week, but I did get a couple of good shots. Having said that one of my favorites is the first picture I took with my first Practica - featuring "D3adm0nk3y".

I have gone through 3 Practica bodies but they have became more and more difficult to buy.

This year santa left me a Nikon D300 with and 18-105 lens which I am getting use to, with some help (see above) any tips would be welcome.

Cheers ...

Hi, and :welcome: to the forum

Welcome from another ex-Praktica user, an LTL then moving on to MTL5b before catching the Nikon bug from my dad... (Who has now moved on to Fuji!!)

Welcome Stuart, almost same route as you but with Olympus cameras.

I started with the D80 but went up to the D300.

Just stick it in Aperture priority for landscape or shutter priority for speed
Just grow into it and read read read..............
