Old Laptop Recovery Disc

I thought I had a recovery disc for my Toshiba L40-17M, but it seems to have taken a ride somewhere. I've done google searches, but they lead to deadends; not even any help from Toshiba as it's quite old now.
So any ideas on downloading the necessary files, or alternatively, is it even just to set it up for Linux?
 
The recovery disc is only required to put the original image back on.

In order to install Windows or Linux you don't need it. Just get full install media and boot from that.
 
Okay, so I installed Linux last night, but haven't had a proper look at it; I used Ubuntu Mate.

Any advice on which RAW editor to use? Photivo, RAW Therapee, RAWstudio and UFRaw are the first to come up on my initial search.
