Hi is there a cheap and cheerful way to see what’s on these hard drives taken from old Microsoft computers I have a MacBook with Yosemite iOS thanks in advance

As you have 2 older PATA drives and one more recent SATA drive you will either two different caddies or perhaps one SATA caddy and a PATA hard drive dock.

Either way and bearing in mind they are old drives is it worth the effort?

PS if you were talking about a PC or desktop type Mac the cheapest route would be, based on the computer having a spare internal power plug & an available hard drive port on the motherboard.

If so on the above - a molex to molex power extension cable plus a data cable as needed (here I surmise the computer is modern and has only SATA on the motherboard) of SATA to SATA & a (fairly sure I read of this) SATA to PATA convertor plug.

I had one myself until my office was destroyed in a serious fire last September. Sadly I lost all my old PATA drives so just replaced it with a table top docking station.

You people are so kind I will look up the details you have written and report back Thankyou
