Old glass plates / slides

I have just been given a few boxes of glass plate negatives and slides

So, just had a quick look through and scanned a couple. So I thought you lot would like a look !

First is a 7 x 5 inch glass negative, no idea of date and it is sort of displayed in a odd way. It is Rabat in Malta.

This one is a 3 3/4 inch glass slide of Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire. Again I have no idea of date, but the clothing and possibly the shops etc might help.

Great find, the Pately Bridge one is fantastic. You could start a whole series of 'Now & Then' shots.

Wow the main street of Pately Bridge has barely changed at all, just some new tarmac and a couple of modern shops...

Last time I was there, the top end of that bit was still cobbled - I went flying down it, from the big hill up above, on my pushbike, front brake failed, and I hit the cobbles around 40mph on skinny little racing wheels. Fortunately, my screams of agony cleared the bulk of the pedestrians out of the way and I narrowly avoided contact with anyone until i'd stopped on a single anchor!

love the pateley bridge plate i've being trying to buy \ find some lantern slides for a few weeks now to use on an old magic lantern i've bought and was offered some glass plate negs, i wish i'd bought then now.
