So i have an old Nikon D50, very well looked after.
Anyway i no longer use this as i have a D200, so lately it's been sitting in my bag unused. So one of my younger friends decided to start taking up photography ALEVEL so i lent it to them etc.
They are now willing to purchase my old D50, but im stuck as to how much to charge them for it.

Basically heres what im looking to sell
Nikon D50 with strap
2x1gb SD Cards
18-55mm nikon kit lens
55-200mm nikon kit lens
bag
cleaning cloth

Now when i bought this brand new ages ago, a good 3 years ago i think it cost me £500ish. Bundle deal from currys lol.

I have no real use for the kit lenses as i have a nice sigma 70-300mm APO DG lens, and i have a Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 lens.

Since its friends i would agree with the price, but those d50s go for stupid prices on ebay i think ive seen kit similar to yours go for upwards of 400 !!!!!

Have a look at ads for 2nd hand kit in AP or check out websites like Mifsuds, Ffodes etc. D500 boxed with all contents is around £200 (with warranty), 18-55 about £80 (again, warranty), cards are so cheap these days that their 2nd hand value can almost be ignored - chuck 'em in as a sweetner to the deal and bags can vary between almost nothing to a reasonable amount, depending on make, size, wear etc.

I reckon FitP is pretty much spot on as far as the value - you could tell your mate that you were hoping for £250 or so but since he's a mate, £225 but be prepared to take £200 for cash!

So around £200, that sounds alright. As they where gonna try and purchase a whole new camera ya see and those are crazy expensive!
I would rather sell my camera to someone i know than to someone i hardly know. It's strange really, it's like my little baby and all i want to see is it treated well etc.

And i suppose with my friend i know all will be good :)
