Hi all,

I have recently acquired some FP4 (not plus!) I understand it might be a bit dodgy being so old. My question is when I process it shall treat it like fp4 plus. Or will I need to do anything different?

Second question is I also acquired some old chemicals a Tetenal ultrafin and a Tetenal fix, both look a little bit old, they came with a Delta 100 that expires this June, I would assume they were bought together. I guess the fix is fine but do you think the dev will be ok? Both bottles are sealed.

do a test with the end of a piece of film if the dev's ok it should be clear cheers mike
 
A mate of mine recently gave me all his old stock of 35mm film, 4 rolls of T Max 100 & 8 rolls of Fp4 all kept in loft & still good. I just give it about 20% longer in the dev & rated it @ 80,The date on the boxes is 1990 so 24 years out of date & still works a treat.

depends on what piece of the film you develope ,,,,if its the leader end , then it will be the exact opposite of clear ,,,,very dense ,if its past the leader and unexposed it will be clear . ( you may be thinking of testing the clearing time for the fixer )

You could test the developer and fixer, but is it really worth it? These chemicals aren't expensive, I'd just buy new ones.
 
^^^WHS^^^ One unknown element is enough, if you process a roll and it comes out cack you won't know if it's the film or chemicals that's US.

Just treat yourself to some new chemicals.
