I went to a wedding last week and the kids were given disposals and my boy loved it. So I was wondering if anyone can think of any old digital compacts from the early noughties with a optical viewfinder I can pick up cheap?

Canon Ixus?

I have an 85 which I think was a Jessops only 80.

I don't know if I'd go for any really early compacts as the one I used at work ate batteries and I mean that, I remember struggling to get 6 shots around the factory before it died.

The old Canon Powershots were good, my A620 took some amazing photos, still have it actually. Ran on 4 AA's which lasted a while IIRC although a set of Eneloops would sort that out properly.

Ixus 70 still takes nice pictures in good light the view finder is shoddy but any kid will soon get into using the screen!

Minolta S414.. my first digital camera, still got it in the camera cabinet.

Seems to be quite a few older models with ovfs I'll pick one up on eBay.

Nikon Coolpix 3100?
