This is a repost from the Equipment section as I thought maybe here would get a better response... Feel free to tell me off or something if I done bad :bonk:

Hi,

My girlfriend's dad gave me this today to try and sell for him, but I have no idea how much it would be worth. I can barely tell you anything about it, just what's written on it!

"D&N Auto 2X converter Made in Japan AP" around the top.
Einstellwert and Messwert followed by Aperture values.
and on the bottom it says 'Vierlinser'

The glass is a bit dusty but no apparent scratches so I was wondering if anyone could help? Would love to know anything about it if anyone knows!

Any help would be brilliant! :)

Also, be prepared for another one of these questions as my dad bought a lens the other day because it was cheap... So if it's not gonna fit on my D80 I'm going to be looking to sell that too!

Thanks in advance!

I have just picked one up on FEEBAY for £9.00
CLICKY Not the same make etc as yours. May give you some clue as to price.

Thanks for the help, but it doesn't look like it's an M42... Though I'm not 100% sure!

Will posting a picture make it a bit easier? If so I'll sort one out for later :)

Likely to be M42 then. Possible M39? Measure the diameter across the thread.

Pics would be most useful.

If it is the slightly smaller M39, and given the german-ish names / text it may be for a Leica which may increase the value. Probably not by a huge amount though.

Am I correct in thinking theat the Zenith rangefinders were basically copies of the early Leicas? Or did they acquire the machinery etc after WW2?
