Ok, it turns out that I now have an afternoon for myself (which is amusing as I just moaned that I never seem to get one) but a client has just cancelled at the last minute.

So...

I realise that my avatar is:

a) very old indeed
b) boring and uninspired

So, I shall go and make another one either inside or outdoors in the countryside. I have oodles of kit itching to be used, so someone give me a really crazy / stupid suggestion as I am really up for doing something a bit silly.

I was thinking about remote release / self timer and studio flashes ready to capture something in motion. I already poured milk all over myself once so I dont care about getting dirty ;)

suggestions anyone?

So, let me get this straight, you have poured milk over yourself and intend to take photos for your avatar...I look forward to these...I think...suddenly had a worrying thought...

haha :D yeah I made a pic for the TP competition...

It was suprisingly difficult to do yourself!

Swinging on a rope from a tree (or if you are less adventurous on a swing) that should present a fair challenge for timing ?

This is a cool idea, unfortunately though I only have a cable remote release so I could see the camera going flying! I suppose I could put it on timer but I can see me running out of hours in the day before I end up actually in the frame lol

I might try again at hurling something at high velocity into my own face... now to find something suitable (and something that wont hurt or kill me!) :D

...Walks off to find a bucket of water :)

Have you ever tried to mattress surf? That should give you a action shot as well as a bit of a thrill. :p

You could use the interval timer to take a photo every second for a minute if you wanted to extend the time you have to get into position.

For fun self-portrait ideas why not look at this guy. I love some of his creativity.

Reminds me of the shots on the front of cereal boxes, you know when you see milk being poured on the cereal and it's all over the place, totally made up of course, not even milk. I guess you could montage yourself onto a box of cereal, and give the cereal a name - Shutterpops?

I have paintballs, a paintball marker (gun) and a tank of compressed air. Shame you are not exaclty round the corner!

EDIT: Sorry forgot to mention about the mask! (Safety first kiddies!)

Looking forward to it!

Dont be  I managed to pack up my bag, lights and powerpacks... drive out to the location I wanted, setup and check lighting took 3 shots and it started to rain :bang: more than a little typical!! (my bowens most definately are not waterproof!)

I had a play at home before the weather really hit, so I am loading in the pics now to see if they suck or not... I think I might have another go tommorrow morning ;)

The top half looks a bit too lumpy for milk, did you leave it out in the sun all day? :bonk: lol
