Coprophagy (eating poo) is used by some animals to introduce the necessary gut fauna (bacteria) for proper digestion of tough vegetable matter as well as the extract as much nutritional value from less tough grasses. Don't really fancy having a transpoosition myself BUT I would happily have been a donor had the treatment been available when Mum contracted C diff. after a stroke and pneumonia.
 
probiotics is used a lot - I think what is more interesting is the fact she because obese after it. they should take gut bacteria from a skinny person and put it in a fat one and see what happens

Sounds like a good plan......might reduce list of those going in for gastric by passes
