Oh God... the shame.....

It reminds me of the work of Maciej Dakowicz and Cardiff nightliff. Trouble is you could pick any big town, or popular seaside resort and get similar images

Thanks for the link. I enjoyed those images (and reading the linked review of Blackpool, from 20 years ago).

Blackpool has been stuck in 1974... well.. since 1974, so that review of Blackpool may as well be hot off the press.... there's just more Ketamine and Meow-Meow involved now :)

Sadly it looks like a British version of Magaluf..... some interesting people shots though.
(Unfortunatly reminds me of my time in the Navy, but then i had an excuse.... i was young and stupid, now i'm not young).

I saw some very interesting film of Victorian Blackpool and theres quite a few very good photographs of that era. Looked wonderful in its hayday!

I actually live in Bispham... which is not actually in Blackpool...

I've heard that excuse before. It didn't wash then, and it doesn't wash now! :D

I thought the same, but perhaps more like some of Peter Dench's stuff.

I was in Blackpool last year. What a f***in' toilet and a great shame.

Blackpool is the hen party capital of UK. Parties go from all over, particularly Glasgow (Don't ask - I don't know!).
It's worth going just to see the (human) sights, but for anything else it's worth avoiding.
At one time it was the town with the highest % of the population on the dole, or whatever it's called nowadays.
A sad place long past it's sell by date.

Bispham? That's the posh end!

Not quite so great when it's right on your doorstep however.

Unfortunately... I have to agree entirely.

Horses for courses, I guess. I was there with my wife last year. Apart from the odd idiot we had a nice meal and several drinks.

Onto the photographs, I always admire photographers who can take the 'in your face' approach.

Cheers.

Wow, just wow.

I've been up Blackpool umpteen times so am under no illusion on what the nightlife is like along the front.

Very cringe-worthy but oddly entertaining, like going from one car crash to another.

I work near Blackpool, luckily I get to drive 30 miles away after I've finished work :)

Some nice images though.

I can see blackpool from where I live. Luckily there is some water/mud in the way and a 45min drive.

Although I'm sure there are worse places to live.

For pure comedic effect it has to be #13 for me, there's just so much wrong with that photo
