Got an email yesterday from someone asking me to take some photos at a club in Glasgow :woot:. If the sender hadn't said she'd already spoken to me I might have gone along with it for a while and contacted her to find out a bit more. But it turns out she was looking for Iain Smart a photographer in Glasgow. :bang:

Oh so close to my first commissioned shoot.

D'oh!!

I had a similar thing happen to me a while back - a lady emailed me, said she'd spoken to me in B&Q about taking photos of her daughter. Turns out I wasn't the person she'd bumped into!

That extra "i" is greatly over-rated. I have one in my middle name and the one thing it guarantees is that people spell it wrongly. As if being called Stewart wasn't bad enough - you'd be amazed how many people spell my name Stuart even when they've seen my name in writing (eg replying to an email).

The inability of people to check the name they're replying to is not lost on me. Even though at work we have a set email template of firstname.surname@etc I still get emails saying "Hi Allen". I tend to reply with a "Hi Smith"
